Chua May Ling - Masterclass

Chua May Ling, hailed as the finest female classical guitar player in Malaysia, also holds the distinction of being the first female guitarist in Malaysia to have a debut recital and the only guitarist in Malaysia to have premiered in the late John Duarte's 'Variations on a theme by P. Ramlee (Getaran Jiwa)' with the composer in attendance.

A founding member and former Secretary of The Classical Guitar Society and the former Vice President for The Classical Music Society, May Ling holds a Guitar Teaching Licentiate (LTCL) of the Trinity College of Music London, a Yamaha Grade 4 (Teacher's grade) and a Drums Teaching Licentiate (LRSL) from Rockschool London.

She has been an examiner with Yamaha Music Malaysia, with experience as an adjudicator for Yamaha Music Guitar Competitions as well as other music competitions.

May Ling has over 20 years experience teaching the classical guitar. Having performed as a soloist and in ensemble (group), she represented Malaysia at the 15th April Spring Friendship Art Festival in Pyongyang, North Korea. She was part of The Kuala Lumpur Guitar Ensemble II that performed on Malaysia's local network TV3 programme - Malaysia Hari Ini, and the Ordu International Guitar Festival in Turkey. Currently she is part of The Mahameru Chamber Musicians, having performed in the Trinity Guildhall and Rockschool Diploma Conferment Awards 2011.

 

Adil Rahim - Classical Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass and Ukulele

Adil has been teaching and performing a variety of guitars from classical, acoustic, electric, ukulele, and bass guitar for nearly 10 years; teaching students from absolute beginners to diploma standard for the Rockschool syllabus. In 2016 Adil was awarded the Top Teacher Award in BMA.

Adil has amassed experience in music production both in the recording studio and theatre. In 2014 he was awarded 2nd place for the Indi.com Bumblefoot Guitar Challenge, playing Chopin’s, Fantaisie Impromptu, and also performed with Bumblefoot (Guns N Roses/ Art of Anarchy) in Kuala Lumpur. He has also appeared as opening act for Kiko Louriero, Tosin Abasi, and CNBLUE.

In 2015 he attended the world renowned Freak Guitar Camp, in Sweden, where he studied South Indian Music, and has been a student of Tom Monda (Thank-You Scientist) learning Jazz for a number of years. Adil recently won first place in a guitar competition to meet Guthrie Govan (The Aristocrats/ Hans Zimmer) during his performance in Kuala Lumpur, and was recently interviewed by a well-known website unfretted.com in the UK, a site that he used to be a fan of as a teenager.

Adil is currently writing and recording a solo album working together with guest musicians Diego Tejeida and Conner Green (HAKEN), Bumblefoot and Kevin Antressian from The Dillinger Escape Plan/Backroom Studios.

 

Fadley Fauzi - Classical Guitar, Acoustic Guitar Electric Guitar and Ukulele

Fadley is one of our younger teachers in Bentley Music Academy, he completed his studies at UiTM Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia in 2010 graduating with a Diploma In Music.

Whilst there he studied under Mr Ridza Mubarak and Chua May Ling (our Head of Classical Guitar). He has already built up an impressive classical guitar repertoire ranging from Bach to Tarrega.

Fadley is a freelance performer and a freelance teacher. He teaches Classical and Acoustic Guitar. He has been teaching around professionally for more than 5 years. He is very excited about embarking on his career teaching classical/acoustic guitar at Bentley Music Academy and is committed to continue building his reputation as a recitalist, passing his skills and experience onto his students.

 

 

Afiq Faudzi - Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar and Ukulele

Afiq Faudzi is a fulltime musician working as a free-lance musician and guitarist and also is a composer of jingles. Afiq has been teaching electric and acoustic guitar since 2006 with a focus on Pop, Rock, Blues and RnB music.

Afiq has performed with a number of artists with Kartel Productions, including Joe Flizzow, Altimet, Sonaone, Ila Damia and Balan Kashmir, to name a few. In 2011 he graduated with a Diploma in Music, majoring in Music Technology from the National Arts Academy (ASWARA) and is currently working towards a degree majoring in performance.

 

 

 

 

 

Momo Sanchez - Classical, Guitar, Acoustic Guitar , Electric Guitar, Jazz Guitar and Ukulele

Originally from Penang and now based in Kuala Lumpur, Momo had been through a series of musical epiphanies and transformations from pop, rock, heavy metal, and is currently a very dedicated jazz musician and composer. Being naturally dexterous and fluid in his ability to improvise he is becoming noted as an upcoming jazz guitarist. Momo graduated from MARA University of Technology with a Diploma majoring in Guitar Performance and with a Bachelor degree in Music Composition

Momo is an all-round guitar professional and his equally at home in classical, acoustic and rock. He is also skilled in composition, modern harmony and jazz theory. As a jazz enthusiast, he has developed a deep connection with contemporary music and integrates his own style with multiple genres and styles ranging from Bach, Chopin, Debussy and John Coltrane.

 

 

 

Stephen Borgovini - Acoustic Guitar & Drum Tutor

Stephen Borgovini , is an international major label (EMI, Capitol, Virgin Records) platinum recording artist from New York City. He had been involved in the NYC music industry since 1993, and started playing drums at the early age of 12.

He has credentials in performance, production, and recording. Stephen has toured the world with his band, FLC and has written and produced Top 10 hit songs in Great Britain and throughout Europe.

While on tour he had the good fortune to merge musical ideas from artists such as Dave Grohl and Butch Vig (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) Beck, U2, Stephen Perkins ( Jane's Addiction, Porno for Pyros) and Frank Briggs (Mel Bay Publications).

Stephen brings a groove that's essential for Pop/Rock, Hip Hop, Funk, Blues and Jazz.

He believes music is an art form and makes learning fun.
