Emily was born with an innate passion for music. Ballet lessons was where music was first introduced to her. Her wish to play the piano came true and she went on to complete her Diploma in Music with London College of Music. All this happened whilst she pursued dancing in the local and international scene.

During high school, Emily joined a percussion group known as the Hands Percussion Team. She and her team performed at the Doha Asian Games Cultural Show 2006, the Taiwan World Cultural Showcase World Music Festival on Drum and Dance 2007, the 16th ASSITEJ World Congress and Performing Arts Festival for Young People in Adelaide, Australia in May 2008. At the same time, international schools such as the Sri Cempaka International School and Chong Hwa Independent High School had employed her as their percussion teacher.

After graduating from high school, Emily continued her studies with ICOM. Her major was in piano music arrangement. She also took part in choir competitions.

Emily discovered eventually, her love for teaching and sharing the beautiful wonders of music with children and her students. Carrying this passion Emily advanced further with certification from Musikgarten programme in 2003, a holistic program developed by Dr Lorna Heyge with her team of researchers, including childhood psychologists. All in now she has been teaching this program for 19 good years.

Recently with the passionated drumming spirits had drove her into “Arthur Hull” the founder of village music circles in 2016, she fell in love with the transformational impact of facilitated rhythm experiences and she decided to become a certified drum circle facilitator. Emily has organised successful drum circles for community, special needs groups and physically challenged groups over the past 5 years.

Emily, a mother of two strongly believes that music can bring unlimited joy. She encourages parents to take part in music lessons with their children, thus enhancing the lessons, builds healthy family relationships, in stils a strong sense of security and confidence in children. Her philosophy is that children given music education tends to show notable better academic results, traits of perseverance and social aptitude, as researched.
