A seasoned pianist known for his musical sensitivity, Robin is no stranger on the local concert platform. For the past 15 years, he has involved himself in numerous concerts and performances, collaborating with many musicians, both instrumentalists and vocalists.
Robin co-founded Anjung Trio with violinist Mabel Wong and violist Andrew Filmer. Together they have performed on many occasions, including the JB Classical Music Festival, Sunway University and Bentley Music Academy, delighting audiences with their well-crafted and finely-curated programme.
Robin is also privileged to have worked with local composers, most notably with Wong Chee Wei on several projects, including recordings, a showcase concert, and the commissioning of new works.
Robin has a Bachelor of Music (Hons.) degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia, and Licentiate diplomas from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), Trinity London, London College of Music; as well as a Recital Certificate from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
A dedicated educator, Robin is passionate about foundation building and places emphasis on the mechanics of piano playing. He employs a systematic and all-rounded approach in his teaching, ensuring healthy technique building with musical understanding.
When not playing with colleagues, Robin finds joy working with instrumental students, be it for exams, competitions or performances. His patience, musicianship and ability to rehearse effectively made him a much sought-after coach.
