Wan Mohd Ruzaini, often referred to as Wan, is a dedicated drum teacher and professional session drummer. With over 15 years of performing experience and 7 years of teaching expertise, he had his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), majoring in drumset and percussion where he honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of diverse musical styles.

Throughout his career, he has cultivated a broad knowledge of musical genres, including jazz, latin, blues, rock, pop, electronic, funk, metal, hip-hop and many more. His versatility has allowed him to collaborate with renowned artists and musicians such as Henk Kraaijeveld, John Dip Silas, NewSound, Rizal Tony, Agal Musik, A. Rahman Hassan, Khir Rahman, Layar and more on his list. Additionally, he has toured with the UiTM Big Band and currently performs with Ramayan, Arish Mikael, and Liqorish under a well-known recording company called Luncai Emas. One of his most recent highlights was joining Ramayan for their Asia Tour 2024 in Japan and Taiwan.

Beyond performing, he is passionate about sharing his knowledge through teaching. He has conducted workshops such as a jazz drum session for TUDM musicians at UiTM and continues to inspire students with his dynamic approach to music education. Currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Music Education at the College of Creative Arts UiTM Shah Alam, he is committed to advancing his expertise and contributing to the growth of aspiring drummers.

As an educator and performer, his mission is to empower individuals to explore their musical potential while fostering creativity and technical excellence. Whether on stage or in the classroom, he strives to create meaningful connections through rhythm and sound but more importantly, have fun while doing it.
