An avid performer, Yen-Lin Goh has premiered and performed numerous solo and chamber works in festivals and concerts across North America, Europe, Africa, and Malaysia. She was selected as a 2018 One Beat Fellow with the U.S. State Department. The same year, she received the Anugerah Seni dan Kreatif from UPSI. In 2015, she was invited as one of two musicians for a residency at Brush Creek Arts Foundation in Wyoming, U.S.A. Among her other awards are the Phi Kappa Phi Love of Learning National Award, second prize at the Oklahoma Israel Exchange (OKIE) Young Artists Competition, and the Tunisian/American Embassy Piano Fellowship.
A full scholarship recipient, Yen-Lin earned her MM in Piano Performance with high honors from Oklahoma City University, U.S.A., and subsequently received her DMA (Performance) from Bowling Green State University in Ohio on a full teaching assistantship. She also holds a BA in Piano Performance and Communication Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Yen-Lin’s passion for teaching brought her to Tanzania 2013-15, working as a teaching fellow at Umoja Music School and a lecturer at Tumaini University Makumira. She then served as a senior lecturer at UPSI in Malaysia 2015-2020. She has taught students of all ages, levels, and cultural backgrounds — including those with special needs — across Asia, America, and Africa. Her international experience, combined with exposure to the Suzuki approach, Deep Listening, collective improvisation, Eurhythmics and training in the Kodály method, has inspired her to develop effective, multisensory teaching strategies that engage students on multiple levels. She is currently an adjunct lecturer at UCSI.
Yen-Lin has received the Excellent Piano Teacher Award and the Outstanding Teaching Award in recognition of her students’ achievements in international competitions. Her students have also been selected to perform in masterclasses for prominent artists. Yen-Lin’s cross-continental career was featured in the Journal of the International Alliance for Women in Music (2018) and in the China Press national newspaper (中国报).
